October CSHA Board Meeting

WHEN: Monday, 10/19/26 at 7:00 p.m.

WHERE: 3rd Street Social

All Board meetings are open to any CSHA member; please contact Board Secretary Season Burnett at least 24 hours in advance if you would like to attend a monthly Board meeting so we can be sure to include your seat in our reservation (we often meet at restaurants).

If you have a topic you'd like to present/discuss, let Season know at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting so we can make space on the meeting Agenda. Out of respect for everyone's time, guests' agenda items will be discussed before the usual monthly Board business, and the meeting will be run according to the Agenda with as few digressions and as efficiently as possible.

We will check addresses at the entrance (thanks in advance for your patience!). If you're behind on your HOA dues (which pay for the dumpsters & scrap recycler, among other good neighborhood things), please bring a checkbook and we'll get you settled up.

VOLUNTEERS WELCOME!

If you're able to volunteer for any length of time Saturday morning, please contact Dan Altnether (email or 816-509-8717). We sincerely appreciate the help and we'll have coffee & tasty donuts on-hand to lend you strength!

We will once again have a SCRAP METAL COLLECTOR and a pile for "too-good-to-trash" donations to be collected by Cornerstones of Care! Let's divert as much as we can from going to the landfill! Click here for a list of items that Cornerstones of Care needs & those they cannot accept.

As always...we cannot dispose of any hazardous waste in the dumpsters (paint, chemicals, tires, tube TV's, etc).

Bryant Elementary

WHAT: KCPS Community Meeting re: Bryant next steps (Benefits Agreement & Property Use Restriction Agreement)

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Bryant site redevelopment process thus far. Now that the property is under contract, KCPS is entering the next phase of work with the surrounding neighborhoods. This phase of the process includes establishing agreements, guidelines, and community commitments to help guide the project moving forward.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and develop two important agreements based upon the scope of the project that was selected by KCPS. If you are unfamiliar with the scope or would like to review it again, please view it HERE. Thoughtful collaboration around these agreements will help us get the best outcome for the selected project.

Get Ready to Vote!

Check your voter registration status, view your sample ballot, find your polling location for the 11/3 election (if you don't want to vote early), and information about early voting locations and times at the KC Election Board's website.

The last date to request a mail-in absentee ballot is NEXT WEDNESDAY, 10/21.
